Teddy Bear Akita Championship dog show results

at the Kennel Club Of Northern New Jersey, Inc. on Sunday March 4, 2001

hosted by the Raritan River Akita Club Inc.

The threat of a Northeasterner storm with 24 inches of snow forecast hung over the indoor exposition hall had some of the exhibitors behaving nervously which was communicated to their Akitas. Two dogs 'fertilized' the indoor mats. But judge Marc Cohen quickly acted to cover the 'fertilizer' with a chair until the pooper-scooper person did his deed. Neither rain, snow, sleet nor dog poop stopped the Teddy Bear Akita Championship dog show from moving right along.

All of the Akitas were well groomed and well presented, by owner handlers or professional dog handlers. The dogs behaved well, even the two 'poopers' who dropped their fertilizer and then continued moving right along.

Best of Breed went to CH BREEZEWOOD VENUS AT IMARII, the Akita bitch that won the ACA National specialty dog show in Frederick, Maryland in October. The lucky lady took home a big rosette, a 16" cuddly Tazmanian Devil teddy bear, an imported Raritan Club medallion and the applause of all at ringside.

The best of opposite sex to best of breed rosette went to a fine young dog from the 12 - 18 puppy dog class along with a four championship point major. This nice dog also won an imported Raritan Club medallion and an 18" cuddly teddy bear for his proud owners offered by Anthony and Carmela Soprano of NJ.

Another four championship point major and the winners bitch and best of winners rosettes went to the two and one-half year old bitch ZURI'S KNIGHT TERROR along with several other prizes. Numerous other teddy bear prizes and medallions were awarded to the happy Akita winners.
