Group membership in NYLANA is intended for those organizations with several networking professionals who may elect to pay $250.00 for six or more individual members instead of the usual membership fee of $50.00 per individual member.

General Information
The New York LAN Association (NYLANA) is a volunteer non-profit organization dedicated to the education of enterprise computing professionals. NYLANA is an member of the Association of PC User groups (APCUG), NetWare Users International (NUI), Microsoft Mindshare, WANTUG the Worldwide NT User Group Association amongst others. NYLANA is a volunteer operation whose membership is open to all persons interested in networking LAN's, WAN's, Intranet and the Internet.
NYLANA was organized in 1990 in New York City. Today our membership database contains over 1,200 networking interested professionals who live or work in the greater New York area.
NYLANA is organized and volunteer operated to provide opportunity for:
- The primary and principal activity is to educate and promote the exchange of ideas and opinions relating to networking, LAN's, WAN's, the Internet and Intranet. To studying and discussing various business and technical aspects of networking computers.
- The Association will endeavor to do this by the distribution of information to members, and in providing a forum in which members can educate themselves and share information, at the general meetings, at special interest group (SIG) meetings and through our various publications, including our bimonthly New York Lan Journal.
- The activities of NYLANA are designed and intended to keeping its members informed of current scientific and technical data of special interest to them as people who utilize networking computer hardware and computer software.
- The exchange of ideas and opinions, and for studying and discussing various business and technical aspects of networking personal computers.
- Distribution of new information to members, and a forum in which members can share information.
- Encouragement of software development among members, and assistance to members in obtaining resources necessary to develop software.
New York LAN Association Special Interest Groups (SIGs)
- The Cisco SIG: A Special Interest Group of the New York LAN Association (NYLANA) user group. We focus primarily, but not exclusively, to Cisco products. We carry on the vision of providing user-to-user assistance and information related to Cisco's products, current news and information on certification and employment as well as networking with our fellow IT professionals. - The Microsoft Exchange SIG: This newest user group contains information for NYLANA users of Microsoft Exchange servers. Learn More
- The Novell SIG: Perhaps the largest attended because of its recurrent emphasis addressing NetWare installations, utilities, (Console One, Syscon, Session, PrintCon), Login Scripts. This SIG is usually conducted by a CNE/SE. It is a great refresher course for those new to networking. Learn More
